The mobilizetion of urban poor households to from their own institution is an importent for an effective and sustainable poverty reduction programme. DAY-NULM envisages universal social mobilisation of urban poor into self-help Groups (SHGs) and their federations. At least one member from each urban poor household, preferably a woman, from each be brought under the self-Help Group network in a time-bound manner. These group will serve as a support system for the poor, to meet their fi nancial and social need. Normally, Women SHGs will be formed, however male SHGs of handicapped persons will be allowed to be formed.
SHGs will federate at the ward-level into an Area level Federation (ALF). ALFs will organize into federation at the city level as a city level Federation.
Revolving Fund Support Rs.10000 per SHG (SHG Bank Linkage Universal Financial Inclusion).
Revolving Fund Support Rs:50000 per Area level Federation (ALF).
SHGs Will be linked with bank maximum of Rs . 1,00,0000 for loans (subsidized loans @ 7% subject to timely repayment with provision 3% interest subvention for women SHGs)
